img01_07The Palmunwon is the symbol of Suseonjae.

The center circle of the Palmunwon represents the collected truth and essence of the Universe, and the space between the center and the outer circles represents people, who are seeking to get near this truth. The eight gates are the pathways which Universal energy flows inward. Universal energy moves through these pathways and transforms all creations. Various elements that make up the Universe come out of the outer circle connect to these gates.

By the power of this Universal energy, all things are purified. For this reason, Suseonjae uses the Palmunwon in many ways. We cleanse our surrounding area and self through the Palmunwon, and we draw with our consciousness during meditation. We also make many practical items using the Palmunwon as well.
The Palmunwon represents the principle structure of the Universe.

The North Gate means Justice and the Goal of one’s life, thus it is the direction humans should go in. The East Gate means Propriety or Loving Yourself, and it is how we should refine ourselves. The South Gate means Compassion or Emptying, and it is how we should strengthen ourselves. The West Gate means Wisdom or Knowing Oneself, and it is to show how to spread these methods and tools.
